St Mary Underwriting launches new professional indemnity insurance facility

St Mary Underwriting recently announced the launch of its new facility especially tailored to professional indemnity insurance for solicitors in smaller and medium-sized solicitor firms.

The new professional liability insurance scheme, which is being insured by a new A-rated capacity, will provide cover of up to £3 million for any single claim per insurance policy.  Industry experts have commented that this both meets and exceeds the minimum limits in regards to indemnity as the 2010 solicitors’ indemnity regulations stipulate.

St Mary Underwriting is committed to providing the small business insurance to all insurers who qualify, with a particular preference to solicitors’ firms consisting of 20 partners or less.

St Mary’s lead underwriter Angus Ogg commented on the new announcement by expressing delight on behalf of his employer for its ability to launch the new exclusive PI insurance facility.  Mr Ogg further commented on the the fact that the new facility is unique within the professional indemnity insurance field, as St Mary Underwriting is the only underwriter to currently possess such a custom-tailored offering.

Mr Ogg, who is a founding member of the underwriting agency and is heavily involved all aspects of its underwriting functions, concluded his statement by declaring that St Mary Underwriting firmly believed that the newly launched scheme will quickly become an enormous benefit to both medium and small-sized solicitor firms that are currently exploring options in order to supplement their existing levels of insurance cover.

Established in 2008, St Mary Underwriting originally specialised in providing professional indemnity insurance for very small solicitor firms, typically between two to three partners, in addition to offering insurance cover for several other professions as well.  St Mary boasts a selection of schemes noted for their exclusivity from a highly selective group of insurers.
