Brit Insurance announces professional indemnity insurance promotion

Brit Insurance Group, an international general insurer and reinsurance specialist, recently announced it will be promoting underwriter Jonathan Mudd, previously of North American Professional Indemnity, to the position of class underwriter.

Mr Mudd will slip into his new position effective immediately.  Joining Brit Insurance nearly an entire decade earlier, Mr Mudd had risen to become an underwriter for the group’s North American professional liability insurance division in a scant two years.

During his tenure at the firm, Mr Mudd has demonstrated his sbilities to play a role that has been instrumental in developing both cutting edge and innovative technical models in order to more effectively service the wide range of business liability insurance clients for his team.

In 2004 Mr Mudd played an integral role in the re-formation of the Insurance Institute of London’s Young Members’ Committee.  Additionally in 2008 he accepted a chairmanship position with the same committee he helped to revitalise.

Even more recently, Mr Mudd made news by becoming one of the youngest people to rise to the rank of vice president for the entire history of the Insurance Institute of London.

In his new position for Brit Insurance, Mr Mudd will be responsible for managing the entire PI Insurance business book for North America, which is part and parcel of the Brit’s division that handles professional business insurance on a global scale.  He will report directly to Janet Hendersen.

Matthew Wilson, global markets business unit CEO for the insurer, said that Mr Mudd is being rewarded for his continuing commitment.

Mr Mudd’s appointment to class underwriter is well-deserved, Mr Wilson continued.  He stated that Mr Mudd’s highly talented skills as a technical underwriter have been an asset to the London market since he joind the firm, and that he has demonstrated great skill in balancing the roles of being an open and trusted broker liaison with measured risk taking behaviours.
