One commercial insurance provider has announced that its newest chief executive officer will take up her position on Valentine’s Day of this year.
The business insurance division of AXA UK will be welcoming Amanda Blanc in her new role of chief executive on February 14th. Ms Blanc will be assuming overall responsibility for the AXA UK division. This will include overseeing the Bluefin Insurance group, the firm’s distribution arm.
Ms Blank will report directly to Paul Evans, group chief executive for AXA UK, upon taking up her new position. She will also acquire new seats on both the AXA UK board and the Executive Committee for AXA UK in addition to her role as chief executive. In her new board member role, Ms Blanc is poised to play an important role in formulating objectives and strategies for AXA across the length and breadth of its UK business range.
Ms Blanc has gone on record praising AXA for its success as a global professional indemnity insurance brand. Moreover, the new chief executive has stated that there still exists untapped potential for growth within the commercial insurance marketplace.
Ms Blank also stated that she welcomed the challenges that lay in her path ahead. She was also quick to express her confidence in how the blend of expertise in Bluefin and AXA would aid the firm achieve new goals and targets in the future.
The Bluefin Group has approximate 80 offices throughout the UK and employs around 2,500 staff members who specialise in insurance, financial planning and advice. Bluefin’s insurance arm provides insurance and broker solutions for business owners and professionals, home and car owners, and also offers medical and travel insurance as well.
Ms Blanc joins AXA UK from her previous role as chief executive of Towergate Partnership Limited.
