Commercial insurance provider announces new appointment

Commercial insurance specialist Arista has recently announced the appointment of Tony Collman as head of professional liability insurance underwriting.

Mr Collman will now become responsible for both the profitability and the growth of Arista’s employers liability insurance and general liability insurance accounts across the UK. The new underwriting specialist will work out of Arista’s London offices and will report to Richard Addis, head of underwriting for the firm.  Mr Collman starts with immediate effect in his new position.

Mr Collman brings two decades of experience as an employers’ liability and general liability specialist to his new role with Arista.  Prior to joining the firm he was Chartis Insurance’s London corporate liability manager.  There he held responsibility for both the growth and the profitability of the firm’s London Liability accounts.  Previous to his role at Chartis Mr Collman held positions as both operations manager and regional underwriting manager for NIG.

Arista chief executive Charles Earle commented on Mr Collman’s appointment.  Mr Earle stated that the knowledge and expertise he brings to the firm will complement the existing team’s levels quite well and that he was quite keen to welcome someone of Mr Collman’s calibre to the insurance company.

The chief executive further stated that Mr Collman’s track record of achievements is a positive one.  His ability to manage profitable growth in the liability sector is well-documented, Mr Earle added, stating that it will dovetail nicely into the opportunities Arista has.  Additionally Mr Earle felt that Mr Collman will be able to build momentum for the plans of the firm to grow not only its liability market share but also the wider commercial business of the company.

Mr Earle concluded by stating that Arista’s regional staff and its associated brokers will reap the benefits of Mr Collman’s experience and presence.
