One new professional liability insurance underwriter will soon be joining commercial insurance provider MGA Arista.
The professional indemnity insurance provider has announced Tony Collman will soon begin serving in his new capacity as head of liability underwriting for the company.
Mr Collman’s new responsibilities will be to both grow and to increase the profitability of the firm’s employers liability and general liability insurance accounts across the country. Reporting to the current head of underwriting for Arista, Richard Addis, Mr Collman will be based out of Arista’s London offices.
Mr Collman was previously employed by Chartis Insurance where he held the role of corporate liability manager. Prior to his work for Chartis, Mr Collman was both operations manager and regional underwriting manager for insurer NIG.
Charles Earle, Arista’s chief executive, took the time to comment on the new appointment. He welcomed Mr Collman to Arista by praising his expertise and knowledge. Mr Earle felt the new appointee will soon begin to be able to complement the strengths of the existing team in a positive manner.
Mr Collman has a stellar track record of being able to achieve profitable growth in the liability sector, said Mr Earle. The chief executive also stated that the new head liability underwriter will be able to add momentum to the firm’s plans to grow their portfolios in both the professional liability insurance sector and in the more widespread commercial insurance sector as a whole.
The firm’s regional staff and their attending brokers will be sure to benefit from Mr Collman’s experience and presence, concluded the chief executive.
It was unclear when Mr Collman will be taking up his new duties with Arista as no effective start date was given during the announcement.
