Oxford Insurance Brokers adds to its professional indemnity insurance team

One Lloyd’s insurance and reinsurance broker has recently added two new members to its professional indemnity insurance UK team.

Commercial insurance broking firm, Oxford Insurance Brokers, stated that the new move was one of the first steps in its new growth strategy.  The new strategy had been put in place after B.P. Marsh & Partners invested £1.4 million in the company, which resulted in a total stake of 30 per cent in the broker.

Tony Coleman joins the current team in the role of senior business developer.  This leaves him with the responsibility to develop the wholesale brokerage operations for Oxford Insurance Brokers.

Mr Coleman has in excess of two decades of experience with large alphabet houses.  His previous role was that of Divisional Director for Cobra London Markets.

Emma Upson, a former Cobra London Markets colleague of Mr Colemam, recently joined the team earlier this January as a broker.

Oxford Insurance Brokers’ managing director, Neill Cotton, stated that Mr Coleman’s vast knowledge and expertise of the wholesale business is sure to be a serious asset to the team as it currently exists.  Mr Cotton added that Oxford Insurance Brokers was looking forward to welcoming Mr Coleman aboard.  Oxford is committed to providing Mr Coleman both the platforms and the opportunities to grow their current UK business insurance portfolio.

Oxford is beginning to advance its growth strategy within all its myriad business areas in the wake of the cash investment from Marsh, stated Mr Cotton.  The professional indemnity insurance division is one area that is key to the firm.   Mr Cotton hopes that this new announcement is just the beginning as Oxford continues to actively search to recruit key teams or individuals across all business lines.
