One commercial insurance broker has recently relocated to new offices in the Callaghan Square business park in Cardiff.
Willis has taken occupancy on 3,300 square feet on 5 Callaghan Square. The business insurance broker has taken up much of the sixth floor, which will soon become home for 20 broking staff.
Welsh & West Corporate regional director for Willis, David Fletcher, commented on the move. Calling the new Welsh head office ‘prestigious,’ Mr Fletcher remarked that the relocation highlights the importance of providing Willis’ staff with the best possible working environment.
As Willis foresees long-term growth in the commercial and corporate sectors, the move is also an investment in Wales, added Mr Fletcher.
Daniel Wilkinson, the UK Corporate business managing director for Willis, officially opened the 5 Callaghan Square office. Mr Wilkinson stated that the new accommodation offers a modern, professional space in which the firm can expand its service offerings to its clients.
The relocation is also reflective of how successful Willis has been in Wales, the managing director stated. The broker also remains committed to Cardiff, as the city is pivotal in the firm’s strategy for UK growth.
The broker’s targeted strategies for growth in Wales have led to Willis acquiring several high profile clients. Firms such as Peters Foods, WRU, Principality BS, Leekes/The Vale, Admiral, Welsh Water, PHS, Royal Mint, Peacocks, Sony, and Brains.
Brains is one of the broker’s largest Welsh clients. The firm supports the office space move, as it believes the broker’s profile will rise even further as a result.
Brains chief executive Scott Waddington stated that a great deal of weight is carried by the Willis brand in the insurance market. Mr Waddington stated that Brains holds particular value for the broker’s specialist teams.
