One Lloyd’s broker has recently announced a new appointment to its professional indemnity insurance UK risks team in the form of Mr John Walsh as director.
Mr Walsh, with more than 25 years’ worth of experience in the professional liability insurance field, joins Tysers & Co. Ltd as their UK professional risks team director. A well-respected figure within the industry, Mr Walsh joins Tysers from his former role as partner in the FirstCity Partnership, which was recently acquired by Arthur J. Gallagher.
Mr Walsh’s new responsibilities for Tysers will be to generate new business liability insurance opportunities for the the firm’s UK Corporate Risks division, said David Randle, Tysers UK Corporate Risks managing director. Mr Randle expressed his absolute delight in the fact that Mr Walsh has joined the firm.
Mr Randle also said that Mr Walsh will undoubtedly prove to be an integral addition to Tysers’ team due to his extensive and exhaustive expertise regarding every aspect of the professional indemnity industry.
In a recent interview, Mr Walsh commented that he too was quite pleased to have the oportunity to join Tysers. The new UK professional risks team director remarked that he has been impressed with the culture, entrepreneurial spirit, and vision of his new home, and was happy to have been given an opportunity to use all his prior experience in order to be able to add to Tysers’ longstanding and well-respected pedigree.
In other news, many professional indemnity insurance experts in the UK have stated that the Solicitors’ Regulation Authority’s decision to increase the Financial Ombudsman Service’s upward limit on compensation to £150,000 could result in increased insurance premiums for solicitor firms.
