Swinton Group opens 34th commercial insurance office

After acquiring a new account, one business liability insurance provider has opened the doors on its 34th commercial insurance office in the UK.

Swinton Group has recently acquired Brunsdon Westinsure, an independent business insurance broker based in the Swindon area. This is the 11th such acquisition for Swinton since the beginning of the year, a move the insurer claims underlines its current strategic growth initiative.

Brunsdon Westinsure staff will transfer to work side by side with their new colleagues from Swinton in offering a full, comprehensive range of personal and commercial lines products such as professional indemnity insurance.

The commercial team will continue to operate out of the former Brunsdon offices at Dammas House in Swindon whilst the smaller personal lines team will be based out of the existing Swinton high street branch in Swindon.

Swinton Commercial director, Carolyn Callan, remarked that the firm was delighted to announce it had acquired the book of business from Brunsdon Westinsure.  With a strong understanding of the business market in the region and a positive reputation, the transitioning team boasts a mix of specialised knowledge which will only serve to further strengthen Swinton’s offering, Ms Callan added.

Brunsdon Westinsure’s Rod Alcorn also commented, remarking that the brokers had carefully considered several different offers for its business before finally settling upon Swinton.  The brokers were ultimately swayed by Swinton’s commercial team and their enthusiasm, Mr Alcorn said.

Expressing his excitement over the acquisition, the Brunsdon Westinsure spokesman stated that he was looking forward to a commingling of expertise and skills as the broker integrates into the Swinton team.  Mr Alcorn remarked that he had confidence that this will bring even better service to its clients.
