Business insurance provider partners with specialist broker

With a stated aim of becoming the dominant insurer in the market, one provider of business insurance has recently partnered with a specialist broker in order to offer more professional indemnity insurance products for licensed conveyancers and solicitors.

Commercial insurance provider RSA has announced their association with Litigation Protection, a broker specialising in professional liability insurance, through Brian Hall, current Litigation Protection head and previous RSA special risks insurance head for RSA.  The insurance provider will now be offering delegated authority to legal firms on nearly 20 different products for commercial, agricultural, or residential properties with levels of coverage of up to £3 million, and will include cover for several different markets, including unknown/adverse rights, registered possessory title, absentee landlord, and restrictive covenants, to name but a few.

Describing Litigation Protection as an independent broker with a proven track record for bringing innovation to solicitor firms and their clients, RSA said that the broker spearheaded the introduction of legal expenses insurance to solicitor firms nearly 20 years ago.  Litigation Protection now provides not only third party commercial litigation funding through associated companies but also facilities for professional indemnity insurance and also special risks insurance.

Professional and financial risks practice director for RSA, Peter Turrell, said that the insurer has a strong heritage in the professional indemnity insurance market.  He expressed his pleasure to announce the new working relationship with Litigation Protection, adding that the brokers have invaluable insider knowledge of the market.

The specialist brokers will be delivering the insurance products both through self-issue kits and online.  Higher indemnity limits and bespoke cover will be available to solicitor firms as well.
