In the wake of the recent riots that swept across the UK, one commercial insurance provider has reiterated how important it is to have proper business insurance cover in order to protect firms in the future.
Leading business liability insurance broker, Swinton Commercial, recently warned businesses on the importance of proper insurance cover in the wake of the terrible violence that rumbled through the UK in early August. Businesses and shops were specifically targeted by rioters, as looters took it upon themselves to steal alcohol, electronics, trainers, clothes, and other items, while setting shops on fire or smashing their windows.
Double check your insurance policy wordings, urges Swinton Commercial, in order to make sure business owners are protected in the event of another fire as well. The majority of policies will offer cover to firms for structural damage caused by fire, looting, and any other mischief, but some policies will additionally cover for interruption of business as well.
Swinton new business manager, Sean Thompson, remarked that the majority of commercial insurance policies may protect firms for damage sustained by their properties and stock as a result of the riots. Mr Thompson added that it was highly important for all firms to take a close look at their policies to see if they need updating in any way.
One of the fastest growing insurance brokers in the UK, Swinton Commercial has 33 branches across the length and breadth of the UK, which includes 18 regional centres. Swinton caters to all sizes of businesses, from well-established organisations to small start-ups, and currently boasts a customer base of 70,000 businesses.
