PI insurance underwriter secures new capacity

A professional indemnity insurance underwriter has recently secured new capacity less than six months after it parted ways with its former provider.

Business liability insurance specialists Glemham Underwriting, who up until five months ago had been provided its capacity by Barbican, with Aviva, Argo Syndicate 1200, and Catlin Syndicate 2003.  The Argo and Catlin capacity will act to augment the existing professional liability insurance arrangements with Argo Syndicate 1200 and Hiscox, while Aviva will be brought in to back the property insurance and liability business, with the news concerning the involvement of Aviva following on the heels of the insurance firm’s recent reaffirmation of its commitment to the business liability insurance market.

Glemham Underwriting’s chief executive, John Cross, expressed his excitement for these new developments for both the underwriter and the brokers it works closely with.  In addition to the well-known insurers backing Glemham, the underwriter now offers company and Lloyd’s markets, added Mr Cross, which will be providing a wide range of risk appetite across the entirety of its facilities, alongside some new and interesting product developments as well.

In addition to its new facilities, the underwriter remarked that it would launch a new modular policy wording, which would enable all professional indemnity variants for inclusion in a multi-section policy.  Glemham also said that the new wording would allow for D&O, property, liability, and professional indemnity insurance to be integrated under one single policy.

Mr Cross also said that, since Glemham has secured these new facilities arrangements, the underwriter was now prepared to move forward with its already existing development strategy plans over the coming five years.
